Humanitarian Work

In addition to Shakira’s work with Pies Descalzos and ALAS, Shakira is a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF. Shakira gave her voice in a new campaign started by UNICEF called United for Children, Unite Against Aids. Shakira shot public service announcements in 2006 to get the word out about the AIDS pandemic in English and in Spanish. Education is the most efficient tool we have to make people aware and make our children aware, and to protect them from the scourge of the century, which is AIDS.
